Pwned at PvPwnedIt is easy to hit p instead of o when you are in the heat of battle and eager to intimidate your beaten opponent. That is how pwned came to be in the first place. The fact that it comes with more of a punch than its progenitor owned is a welcome side effect. Or perhaps it is not a side effect as much as a reflection of the amount of punch that went into the keyboard at the time of writing. The mutation of the word likely has multiple points of origin. The world is after all filled with sausage fingered and success starved players who are hell bent on declaring “owned”. To be pwned by such a player must be an abysmal experience. You are down in the dirt, food for worms, the smear under the shoe of a noob. Getting pwned by someone that can’t hit the designated keys on the keyboard does not put you in a flattering light. You probably have acceleration on your mouse and a mouse pad that slides around on your desk. It would not surprise me if you play the game with the default configuration; with your fists all over the keyboard but hitting nowhere near the mark.
There is only way to redeem yourself and that is by killing yourself. Better luck in the next life, punk! Whether I am speaking of the death of your in-game avatar or your real life avatar is something I will leave open. It is for you to decide. And in any event, you are a low life form and you had it coming.
